getting a new computer will be an issue soon. it would be fine were it not for the major amount of video editing and processing i do. rendering time and compression time are no small things. if i had a powermac instead of an imac i could avoid six or seven hours of compression time for a four minute video. during editing, rendering effects and audio would move so much quicker. rather than asking a single 2gHz processor to handle all this, two or four dual core processors could be doing it! just imagining makes me drool. so, of course, this time lost translates into money etc etc. i feel like my grandfather when i talk about that. but it’s true. this imac is beginning to slow me down for real. the computer was new and loaded in 2005. but three years in computer time is like fifteen in human years. this presents a problem. i feel victorious every month when i make enough to pay rent. hmmm. must strategize.
