code jumping

it’s not like cliff jumping…have you ever jumped from cliffs, even short ones, into a river? i’ve done it a few times in upstate new york over the years…its pretty typical after a while, if you live in the woods types areas. i’ve jumped ten or fifteen feet and then i’ve jumped a good 30 or so. or maybe i didn’t. i can’t quite remember. i stood there a long time deliberating, i know that. which is never good. either way, it’s thrilling. best on very hot days. oh i think i did make that jump, and in fact, i think that one was a rope swing thing. those can be very fun too. i saw a quicktime movie on the internet i wished i never saw it was a fool jumping, bungee jumping into a a vast green lagoon area. crocodiles are fuckin fast. wow. this cat didnt but dip under the water with his  body for one quick second and a shadow lunged and the animal snapped his head off. i had to back that up and slow it down and i was horrified that i was watching it, but once it got past me i had to know, did i just see what i think i did? cuz he was all happy and again, like LOOK OOH WEEEE HERE I GOOOO and SNAP. forget about goeth, this was Pride Bungeeth Before the Fall and all was quiet and i was just like no he did not just throw himself head first into an alligator swamp but you know i guess it was one of those darwin type equalizations, and all. alligator. terrrifying. they just seem to have no sympathy. they’re all hunger. hunger and jaw muscles. i remember living in florida, they were a concern at times.

but i do still get a thrill out of making big changes in code. you’re like okay this will either work, not work, greatly satisfy me or destroy the look of my site and i’m not sure which yet i should be doing this in the sandbox but dammit i’m going all out rolllllll the dice and PUBLISH
